✪ KATAMARI

I'm fairly sure you're all familiar with Katamari, but for those that are not, those cheeky demons sealed beneath the school are going to celebrate having all their lovely students and teachers back by unleashing a sticky ball on the school.

The katamari will crash first through the boy's dorms and then rocket to the girl's dorms and then onto the teachers from Midnight. For the rest of the day, it will grow and grow, sucking up everything in it's path. No one will suffer grievous injury but some bruises will be sustained for those stuck to it.

Movement is possible while on it, albeit limited so it will take a great deal of effort and determination to move across it. Once on, you cannot come off until the katamari literally disappears at 11:59pm.

All of the destroyed items, rooms, walls etc will be also restored at 11:59. Your bruises will remain unless you see one of the magical healers and get them taken care of.

✪ BETTER THAN LIFE

This one is probably much less likely to be known. For those of you who are Red Dwarf devotees, I'm sure you need no explanation...but I have the sinking feeling I am the only one of those here. WATCH IT XO. *ahem*

Everyone will wake up with a device on their bedside cabinet that looks like a colander with probes on the top. A note will be beside it.

BETTER THAN LIFE

Everyone wishes for the day their fantasies all come true - well for you, today is that day. Simply place this exclusive BETTER THAN LIFE system on your head and pass through the door.

What awaits for you is only limited by your imagination.

If your character places the device on, the probes will pass into their brain (no damage sustained) and detect their fantasies. A large oak door will appear before them. Pass through the door and you will find yourself on a beach in front of a man dressed as a waiter. He will inform you that you are in the "Total Immersion Video Game: Better Than Life" and that whilst here all your fantasies will come true.

Literally.

If you always really wanted a Harley Davidson? One will appear before your eyes. Wanted to date Marilyn Monroe or perhaps have the ability to fly?

You can dine all day on the finest caviar and drink Dom Perignon if you so choose. The only limitations are that it be IC for the character and that anything NC17 in nature is behind a cut with warnings.

Your character will be in a setting like they are on a resort holiday. Clear blue skies, pristine white beaches, lovely golf courses, five star hotels, five star restaurants etc...unless they don't want that. Hey, if Skegness is their fantasy location, it can be Skegness...but I doubt it.

Your characters will also be able to interact with each other as well. Midnight at 11:59pm - the devices will cease to exist. If your character is still inside, they will find themselves where they were when they put the device on but they will remember everything that happened.

Hi all ~

Just a couple of quick notes.

◙ If you haven't run the friends clean-up please do so.

◙ The applications have been updated. We felt the old application that had stood for two and a half years was now out of date, so please use this format for all applications from now on.

◙ Also, our lovely meillure_logs is looking sadly empty of late - don't forget to use it!

◙ Hiatuses can now be taken for a limit of a month. If you're going to sit on the character and do nothing for longer, it might be best for you to let them go.

◙ An activity check will be coming up.

◙ Lastly, any year changes need to be noted here.

Just a couple of notices.

➸ First, term will be officially starting on September 1st. All students will need to be back before then and any new rooming assignments will be released just prior.

➸ University Information is on it's way, we will also have that ready by September 1st. Please respond to this post if you are going to be in the University section so we have definite numbers.

➸ Tomorrow, in place of the Rumour Mill, we will be once again running the Houses of Healing so feel free to spam the place with pretties.

➸ Sunday 24th - the school will be holding a huge carnival. Think like in the movie GREASE. Just for the heck of it and to get you all ready for term.

The Mods wanted to wish you all a great day, tons of excellent gifts and too much food before passing out on the sofa. Ahh, tradition.

The school is still hosting its massive dinner for all those left at the school for the holidays and there will be plenty of turkey, side dishes, crackers and little magical animals for all.

Okay, seems like we have a lot of muses dying off mine included so, in order to get things going a bit more again as it is after all the party season - comment spam.

We want to see comments to random people. Has your least active muse only got one or two people that they talk to regularly? A random feeling of friendship is running through the school urging its students and teachers to curiosity and stepping outside of their bubble.

Post with your quietest muse and see who they might just end up friends with next - lets have a little fun with them, hmm?

Oh and I updated the Mistletoe List to reflect recent adds and drops.

As Meillure is set in Boston, this is a note for everyone.

Boston is due to get 8 inches of snow starting at noon today and also a blizzard-like condition weekend.

Please feel free to reference it if you so wish; outdoor sports/events will be canceled for the weekend and suchlike as well as Fridays and Mondays classes. The school will be stoking the fires and trying to make sure the kids stay nice and toasty.

This is just a notice about a mini-sweep we're doing.

We have a couple of unused accounts, players that have never posted - with characters that I have had people express an interest in.

So, if you are sitting on an unused account, please get back to us asap or consider your character dropped. If noone else picks them up, you are of course free to reapply.

Also, the reserves we have up have run out so will be taken down, if you so wish to re-reserve, just let us know on the application post.

Ok, as we have so many new characters - please reply to this post with any new characters or if you simply haven't yet.

I have a couple of days off work coming up (YAY!) so I will be able to fix everything then.

So, you have until the 5th to get your corrections in as just after that is when I shall go through and make sure everyone is assigned properly.

TAKEN CHARACTERS LIST

All the info on there needs to be tweaked, so please check their house/year/journal/your journal are all correct.

Although; I have a note that ties into this.

I know not all your characters are students canonly; however - here they are. There are several characters that have missed a large chunk of school. These characters must repeat the year.

meillureacademy is a cracky RP, but it doesn't mean we don't want some grounding in reality. This is a school set in Boston, so it needs to operate on a similar basis as a school in Boston would.

For example, Riku missed a lot of school, so he is redoing his year. If you are in doubt, please contact a moderator.

Also, just a reminder to do your research properly. Wikipedia is a lot of help, so are colloquial sites about where your pup might be from.

Lastly ~

OC applications are now re-opened.

Please be warned they are strictly limited to one per player and we will only allow a certain number through - not to mention their applications are much stricter. Please do not be offended if the mods contact you to modify things. If you wanted to pick one up; please see the application post

2. The festival is also held on this date. Remember that Millay is trying to make the biggest pizza in the world, so help her out!

3. As far as rooming goes, students are allowed to stay at school over the summer.

Summer can be trying, but there are many ways to figure out plots. If you're at a loss to do something with your character, you can always IM one of the mods and we can figure something out on AIM:

Ok, this is something that I wish to nip in the bud.

Please do your research.

If its a fandom character, check their fandoms and if its an OC - please check everything makes sense before posting.

For example, if a character is from a country you yourself are not familiar with and you need mannerisms/speech patterns etc; please research it to make sure you aren't way off.

I do not wish to give examples and embarrass people and its not a widespread problem; I just feel it needs to be addressed to stop it before it gets out of control.

wikipedia or just general google are excellent resources. Using them will increase everybody's enjoyment - including your own.

meillureacademy is going to reach its one year anniversary on the 25th April.

The event is going to be marked by an event, I know we just had one - but we still have two weeks.

There will be a reminder nearer the time; but feel free to start planning for your character(s).

The event is: Stereotype Day

For the duration of the day (midnight to midnight) on 25th April - your characters are going to be their stereotypes.

For example:

Fakir might become a Knight in Shining Armour.

Ginny might become a tea-drinking nutty medium somewhat akin to Madam Trelawney.
